The Evolution of ESG—The SEC’s Proposed New Rules
Businesses are moving more and more toward ESG and responsible investing. The most recent occurrence to reinforce that fact happened in March of 2022, when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed new climate disclosure rules.
If adopted, the new rules will require public companies to disclose the environmental risks their company faces, and to explain what (if anything) they’re doing to reduce their negative effects on the environment.
