Laura Brightsen is the Founder of Private Equity Management Associates, a boutique consulting firm that provides strategy and marketing services for the venture capital and private equity industry. Laura also is a Managing Director at Golden Seeds, an investment fund that invests in early stage companies founded or run by women. Additionally, she is on the Board of Directors for a wealth management fund. In 2012, she was selected to serve as a Delegate for the U.S. State Department’s Global Entrepreneurship Program. Her earlier career includes nearly ten years in private equity, including running marketing for Apax Partners and American Securities in New York. Previously, she spent over twelve years in various senior level marketing, P&L operating, strategic and business development roles in large capitalization companies; including, MCI, ADP, and Winstar Communications.
R. Yvonne Campos is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Campos, Inc., a market research and strategy firm providing a full spectrum of marketing and business planning services. She is a nationally-recognized moderator, speaker, and consultant who brings over 25 years of designing, strategizing, and implementing market research for corporations, educational institutions, nonprofits and professional organizations. Yvonne has received numerous awards for her entrepreneurial spirit and civic engagement, including the Pittsburgh Business Times’s 2011 CEO Diamond Award, the Small Business Administration’s Minority Small Business Person of the Year Award, and the Pennsylvania Chamber’s Small Business Leadership Award. Yvonne has served as president of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club, and she is the founder and facilitator of the Women Presidents’ Organization Pittsburgh Chapter. She also currently serves as a board member to Goodwill Industries of Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Dance Council, Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh, WQED Multimedia, and Highmark, Inc.
William Recker is a founding member of Iron Bridge Partners, an investment and consulting firm in Pittsburgh working with start-up companies. He is also Chairman of the Energy Innovation Center (EIC), where he has gathered support for the historic renovation of a vacant vocational school in downtown Pittsburgh, where the EIC will offer courses in environmental leadership, energy efficiency systems management, and renewable energy planning. Bill was President of Fisher Scientific, then founded Science International, a management consulting firm specializing in strategic management, financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions. Subsequently, he became a founding director of Amazys AG of Switzerland, a color management and instrument company that he took public on the Swiss stock exchange in 1996. During that same period he was also Chairman and CEO of Gretag Imaging, acquired from Novartis, which he also took public on the Swiss stock exchange in 1997 and managed until 2000. Bill also currently serves on numerous boards of companies and nonprofit and educational institutions.
